STREET PREACHING IS THE TECHNIQUE IN WHICH GOD HAS COMMISSIONED US TO TAKE HIS WORD TO UNWANTED, UNASKED FOR AND UNINVITED EARS THAT NEED TO HEAR. UNLIKE A ‘TRACT’ WHICH SOMEONE CAN REFUSE, HEARING WORDS IN THE EAR WILL CAUSE A REACTION OF BIBLICAL PORPORTION, NOT TO MENTION THE FACT THEY CAN NOT PLEAD IGNORANCE.
On the contrary, the Bible teaches us to confess Jesus before mankind (Mt.10:32-33) and that is not just praying a 'sinners prayer' one time in front of the church, but repenting, paying restitution for ones SINS and then proclaiming or declaring one's faith in public! It is doing so with the fearlessness of a lion rather than the quiteness of a mouse! (Pr.28:1).
The work of the street preacher is the bold declaration and proclamation of JESUS THE CHRIST by the power of the Holy Ghost to a spiritually dead, blind and backslidden world
(Acts 1:8; 2Tim.4:2).
When we read the Bible we find men of God preaching in public places ALL THE TIME!
Why is this seen as a type of 'strange-fire' to steeple bred Christians of today?
Why do so many churches invest tens of thousandsof dollars and countless hours on youth ministry, children's ministry, married and single ministries, or the most favorite of all 'the music ministry'? Why do they prioritize making sandwiches for the homeless and devoting themselves to a 'prayer ministry' while they totally neglect the PRIMARY mandate of Christ?
The primary mandat of Christ is to GO forth and PREACH THE WORD!
It is likely that I have left out or overlooked many other modern day 'ministries' common among the neo-evangelical church...perhaps there is a left handed, red haired, albino ministry for females who suffer from the droopy eye syndrome! Yet, 98% of the time nobody is receiving an exhortation from the pulpit to go FORTH and preach in the modern marketplace!
You may not know this but now you do...preaching is not a suggestion or just another ministry to add to the menu but a MANDATE...
A commandment from the Lord!
Persecution in the USA is REAL. The spirit of the antichrist is alive and well. The common religion of the masses will not abide with a preacher of righteousness,
The sad fact of the matter is that most people will refuse God's gracious offer of salvation in Christ alone and end up spending all of eternity in Hell
We live in a day that is characterized by many false teachers, false shepherds and false churches. There are many deceivers in this age of biblical illiteracy and home grown , DIY spirituality.
